Sonia Mabrouk - Book Review

The “Insoummission Francaise” by Sonia Mabrouk, a French political journalist, provides a great insight into the problems facing French society today. As radicalisation is becoming a global threat, this book takes a look at the impact various radical ideals such as neo-feminism, ecologists, genderism, multiculturalism and islamophobia play in French society today. As the marginalised groups protest ever more vocally at their injustices, Mabrouk argues that France and its cultural traditions deserve to be recognised too and, in some respects, require defending. This book at times challenges the radical movements, and some of the points raised are controversial. However, I like Mabrouk’s style of writing, and I believe this book underlines problems that exist within many of today’s western developed countries.
