Alice Ekman - Book Review

“Rouge Vif: l’Ideal Communiste Chinois” is a brilliant book giving an insight into China and its new dominant role as a world superpower, rivalling the USA. It discusses what reasons are driving China to seek recognition as a dominant power, her increasing economic and military presence in developing countries such as South America and Africa, close strategic ties with Russia, and how western democratic countries are responding. The author ends the book by discussing the possible limitations that such a strict communist regime may impose on China’s global economic development in the future.
